A few months ago, Milo brought home his Flat Stanley. We decided to send it to Jill in Utah. She did a awesome job of capturing so many things about Utah that Milo really enjoys and all the people he knows.
His class enjoyed learning about Utah, but we are sure they didn’t realize how cool the book really was.
Thanks, Jill, for your willingness to do it and do such a great job!
Here are some pictures of Milo and Holly looking at the book.

For Milo’s homework a couple of weeks ago, we had a family turkey project. We were all suppose to help make it. We could use anything we wanted.
For Milo’s turkey, we decided to use colored cotton balls, tooth picks and coloring. We used food coloring to color the cotton balls and then dried them in the oven. It turned out well. Milo did most of the work for it, but Scott and I helped out.

I decided to make a table runner for Milo’s chest of drawers. I decided to use his now favorite color (orange) and use whatever colors I could. Milo really likes it and so that is good. It didn’t take too long and it turned out pretty good. Thank you Lisa, for helping me with it. I have a few more that I’d like to make, so we’ll see how those come along.

We had some great Halloween festivities. Halloween started the week before when Scott and I attended a Halloween party. We had fun at the party and even won the best costume award. We had some cake balls and learned more how to make them.

We also made some Halloween sugar cookies. The kids loved helping me roll them out. I thought Holly was the funniest. I finally gave her a bit of dough, her own rolling pin and let her have at it.

Holly did attend a Halloween party at the library before Halloween. I managed to get her to put on her princess dress by convincing her she’d get candy if she put it on and took her pumpkin. She went and had a fun time.
My sister also came down for Halloween. We had some good times. We had a great shopping day as well as a great dinner at the Cheesecake Factory on Friday.
On Halloween, we finished up making some cake balls. They were pretty good for our first time. For dinner had a Jack-o-Lantern Casserole. We liked that as well. All of us liked dinner and were surprised at how good it tasted.

Since it is so warm here in Texas, we go outside before dusk and take pictures of all the kids. It was interesting this year because most of the girls were princesses and most of the boys were Star Wars characters. Milo was Obi-Wan Kenobi and Holly was Cinderella.

After pictures, it was decided that my sister and I would sit outside in the driveway and hand out candy and Scott would go with the kids. Scott ended up going with Milo and his friend. Our neighbor went with Holly and her friend. It worked out because the little girls were a lot slower than the boys.
Milo came back a few times to dump his candy and went out again. Holly went out once. I was told that she would walk for a few minutes and then sit down on the grass. She’d walk some more and then sit in the grass. At one point, she was snoring while she was walking. It was hilarious. After she was done trick-or- treating, she was found sitting on the stairs eating candy. Both kids had a great time and Milo was asking when Halloween would come around again. Good times.
