Playing trains

Milo and Holly both wanted to build a train track. After we got it done, they wanted to invite their friends over to play with it. It has been a while since we’ve built a track. It was fun except for when the girls broke the track.

Let’s go walking

For several weeks now, Holly and I have gone walking 3 days a week on the trail by our house with some ladies from the ward. It has been very enjoyable. We have been walking around 3 miles each trip and sometimes a bit more. Our house is near the trail so I walk from our house.

This morning was nothing out of the ordinary. I prepared like normal. I checked the weather and saw that we had a 30% chance of rain. Oh, it won’t rain. I grabbed Holly’s blanket and thought, this will at least keep her warm. I’ll be fine once I start walking. We got part way down the trail when it started to rain. Then it rained harder and harder. We ran a short section to the tunnel and waited a few minutes for the rain to stop.

While in the tunnel, we took this picture of the kids (all girls today). They seemed happy. They started to get restless, so we moved on in the drizzle. Of course, Holly decided to take pull back the canopy on the stroller and got full on wet. She was rather cold when we got home. The kids wanted to go play at the park, but we didn’t because of the rain. When we got back to the cars, one of the ladies asked me if I wanted a ride. I said sure. I didn’t want to walk back to the house in the rain. It was nice, but I’ve decided I’ll take my raincoat with me each time we go now. My gear shorts/capris did keep my phone from getting too wet, so I was happy.

Protecting the property

A few nights ago, we played ball in the house. It is with our balls that are “house friendly.” We have gotten some good use out of them. They are really great videos. We hope you enjoy them too.

In this video, I laughed because I thought Scott hit Holly on the head and it came back out. In reality, he it the railing and it came back down.

This is a nice little video of Milo trying to keep the ball from coming into his “property.”

Bath time!

During the school year we make Milo bath every night. Yeah, morning would be better, but he gets grumpy when we interrupt his morning screen time…so we settle for the evening. He likes to bath or shower in the oversized master bathroom because it is more interesting. As long as he obeys we humor him. I find the size situation funny and I wanted to show off my beloved fern, so here you are…the kids in the bath.

Family cooking

Milo has liked to be involved in cooking for a while. Holly has recently started to gain some interest in the mixing and pouring. We needed something for breakfast and decided to make a family favorite, lemon poppy seed bread (breakfast tends to be mobile around our house because Dad usually eats at work). Everyone got into the act and the bread was fantastic! The kids even “helped” with the clean-up. You should notice Holly’s socks. For some reason she has wanted to wear socks recently…
