Scott and I decided since we had a backyard that we should get some soccer goals. Scott said he wanted some metal goals. I found some at Target and purchased them for Christmas.
After Christmas, Scott and Milo went outside to give the new goals a try. In less than five minutes, they were already back inside with the following:
Yep, you guessed it. The plastic corners broke.
The corners did not withstand a hard hit from Scott.
We took them back and decided to get something different. We talked to Jill and she told us about these Pugg goals. We purchased some and tried them out this past Saturday.
Here’s the pictures:
Here’s Scott and Milo playing soccer.
Milo is taking an attempt to get the ball in the goal.
Holly even wanted to play. Although she doesn’t get the idea of kicking the ball yet.

I realize that this post is way over due. Sorry about that. I wanted to post it because of the food we ate. We had ham and bean soup, spiced apple cider with a variety of cheese, meat and crackers. We’ve decided that our children are going to grow up with a very different sense of what is normal in the food department…well, at least a different sense of normal from the way we grew up. We don’t think it is good or bad…just a different reality. We purchased all our cheeses at Costco and the meats at HEB.
The cheeses we had were:
Manchego cheese – Scott first encountered this cheese in Spain and really liked it. Of the cheeses we had, everyone likes this one the best.
Comté cheese – This is a French cheese. This cheese had a lot of flavor, but was good. This cheese had the nuttiest flavor of them all and was probably Scott’s favorite.
Gruyère cheese – This cheese comes from Switzerland. This cheese had a very distinctive flavor. It was a bit overpowering for me. Our bit of it was cave-aged for over a year. Wow.
Here’s the beginnings of our spread of cheese, meat and crackers. We had salami and pepperoni for our meats. The kids really enjoyed the salami.
Milo liked eating the cheese and crackers. He didn’t like some combinations, but did eat a lot of crackers and Manchego. He also had a lot of little sandwiches.
Holly loves to eat. She liked the crackers a lot. She ate some of the Manchego.

I had forgotten I had some pictures on the camera from New Years Eve. I’ll get those posted as soon as I can.
I’m sure most of you know that Milo really dislikes getting new clothes. Some of them he likes and others he doesn’t. The ones that he doesn’t like get put in the “No” pile in his drawer. We’ve had a lot of success with getting him to wear new clothes before with the help of the Aunts.
This year for Christmas Milo got some new clothes. He likes most of them. He has a shirt that is too big for him now and then a pair of pants that has a button. He can’t get it undone fast enough when using the rest room so they are in the “No” pile temporarily until he gets better with the button.
Aunt Jill gave Milo a soccer jersey with shorts and told him they were jammies. I thought to myself “It will be hard to get him to wear those…” One night, I told him he needed to wear new jammies. He did. Wow. The next night, he tried on the soccer shorts. He decided he didn’t want to wear them and chose other jammies. The next night, he actually put on the soccer jersey. I was shocked.
The best part is when he asked me what the jersey said on the front. I told him “Unicef.” He then asked what it said on the back. He knew that it has a number 10 on the back. I told him the name was “Ronaldinho.” He got a confused look on his face and said “But I’m Milo.” It was so funny. He enjoys pretending to be “Ronaldinho.”
I got this picture of Milo playing Star Wars (it was during a solemn part of the movie) so that Aunt Jill can see that he did actually wear the soccer jersey and liked it.

We aren’t sure why, but we think this little movie clip is hilarious. It shows how fun Milo is. This was the day we were putting our Christmas tree up. We hope you like it too.
Here is a funny video Monica took a month ago or so. You should note Holly’s snort and Milo feeding his imaginary doggies leaves (please note that Milo is terrified of real dogs, so we find it hilarious). This is a typical time out in the backyard. We hope you enjoy it.
