Spring interviews with the kids

I really enjoy doing these. It is fun to see if and how they change. Milo didn’t change his answers much, but Holly did.

I took pictures of them and their signatures. I also took voice memos of the interviews. If you want to listen please let me know.

Fall interview with the kids…

I have been asking the kids these questions for a couple of years now. It is fun to do. Milo said he likes it too. I’m always amazed at how much changes and also the changes. I also recorded the questions so if anyone wants to hear what they said, please let me know.

Milo did ask me when Amaia would start doing it. I told him as soon as she can start answering my questions and I can understand her she will start doing it too.

I hope you enjoy it!

Amaia’s 1st birthday

I still can’t believe that Amaia is 1. Time flies by so fast. It has been a crazy year for us! Amaia’s birthday was on Saturday this year. We opened her presents in the morning. Milo actually woke up that morning sick, so he wasn’t feeling that great.

Amaia got some books, a water table, a bubble lawn mower, a toy laptop, a new dress and among other things. Amaia seemed to be able to open her presents well. She had watched Holly do it a month earlier. Milo opened his a few days earlier. I think she knew what to do. She loves to wear bead necklaces and gets into everything! She is a fun little girl. She was just under 22 lbs when I took her to the doctor around her birthday. She is definitely growing up. She can walk really well now and is very stable.

We had fried chicken, potatoes, and a few other veggies. We had a white chocolate cake with lemon frosting. Amaia really enjoyed the cake and ice cream! It was a great day for her!

Amaia’s walking!!

I have a few other posts that I need to post. The exciting news the past couple of days is that Amaia has started walking. She’s gotten more confidence and is now taking steps without help. Here’s a video so you can see it for yourself.

Amaia is now officially crawling

Amaia has figured out how to crawl on her hands and knees. She’s been close for a while now, but has gotten it down in the last week. She will now crawl on her hands and knees most of the time, although she still army crawls too. She doesn’t really stay still long enough for pictures, but here’s an attempt.

Amaia’s moving around

I had forgotten that I was going to share this video of Amaia. I believe I took it a couple of weeks ago. She hasn’t made any progress except that she is getting faster at her army crawl. She is starting to pull her self up part way. Her legs are getting stronger. It will be fun to see when she can pull herself up and if she figures out crawling on her hands and knees.

Amaia is starting to crawl…

Amaia has been army crawling since we got here a couple of weeks ago. She is getting faster and getting into more and more trouble. She is starting to want to get up on her knees. We’ll see how long before she masters that. She can move a lot further than this video shows, but at least you can see that she is moving.

Amaia is growing up…

Here’s a little video I took yesterday morning of Amaia eating. She is getting the hang on eating cheerios and gets most of them in her mouth. She is crawling all over the place. I have a video that I’ll post soon of that. I hope you enjoy it!

Bows for baby girls

I’ve had a lot of people ask me how I get bows to stay in Amaia’s hair.

When Holly was born, I had a friend (thanks, Penny!) tell me how to get bows to stay in the baby girl’s hair. She gave me some bows and off I went. I got some ribbon and made some of my own as well. I have lots of varieties. With Amaia, I’ve used the same bows and can make more if I would like.

I found the hair gel at Target. It’s called Got 2 B Glued. You put a little on the bow and place it to dry. It’s stays on her head for a day or two (it can be longer or shorter). I just put a little water on it and it comes out.

I love it!!

I realize that Amaia’s bow in this picture doesn’t match. We took this picture right before we moved and I just didn’t take the time to change it to a matching one. 20111123-175405.jpg

Comparisons…

I have been wondering how the kids are looking compared to each other.

Originally, I thought that Amaia looked like Holly. In looking at a post comparing Holly and Milo, I realized that they all look a lot a like. It will be fun to see what Amaia looks like as she grows up.

What do you think? Who does Amaia look like?
